Our Major Partner

Chilliwack ElderCollege is grateful for the University of the Fraser Valley`s generous support. Since 1999, UFV has provided us with office space and classroom access.

We also have access to Education Technology and Information Technology support. We could not provide the number or calibre of courses we offer for the economical prices we charge without our valued partnership with UFV.

The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university that enrolls approximately 15,000 students per year.

They offer more than 100 programs, including two master’s degrees, 15 bachelor’s degrees, majors, minors, and extended minors in more than 30 subject areas, more than a dozen trades and technology programs as well as Continuing Education and Upgrading and University Preparation.

Our Community Partners

Chilliwack Academy of Music is a nonprofit music school whose students participate in an inspiring, supportive musical community through workshops and masterclasses, performance opportunities, and financial awards.

They are a member of the BC Association of Community Music Schools (BCACMS). As a registered charity, their mission includes making quality musical experiences available and affordable to the entire community.

In our Spring 2018 semester, we offered our first ever course in partnership with the Academy of Music. ‘Learn to Play the Ukulele’ quickly sold out and we look so forward to offering up to three courses per year with them!

The Chilliwack Curling Club was formed in 1952 and has approximately 650 active members curling regularly in leagues and approximately 1500 shareholders.

The Club has hosted many regional, provincial, and national championships through the years. Their generous support of ElderCollege began in our Fall 2015 semester. We have offered a ‘Learn to Curl’ each semester since!

The Chilliwack Players Guild has been part of the Chilliwack theatre tradition for more than sixty years.

The Guild is an active part of our community, and for many years has donated an annual scholarship to a University Fraser Valley theatre student. They enjoy a vibrant partnership with the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, where productions are performed. They are also longtime members of the Chilliwack Community Arts Council and of Theatre BC.

Membership is made up of local residents who are interested in theatre — on stage as well as behind the scenes.
